We want our subjects to feel completely relaxed, so we typically film in the comfort of their own home. FilmReel Studios proudly serves the entire Greater Vancouver area. We are fully equipped to set up mobile, non-intrusive "fireside" lighting and professional audio equipment in living rooms, retirement communities, or private care facilities across the Lower Mainland.

Can we include old family photos, home videos, or interviews with other relatives?

Absolutely. We highly recommend incorporating your family archives. We offer custom add-ons like a Memory Slideshow, where we digitize and insert old photographs alongside voiceover reflections. You can also choose to add short interviews with a spouse, sibling, or best friend to add deeper emotional dimension and warmth to the final film.

What happens if a loved one has memory lapses or gets tired easily?

We understand that memory lapses or fatigue can be a natural concern, especially with aging elders. Our crew is incredibly patient, respectful, and trained to work at a comfortable pace. We design our 10-Minute Mini Doc package specifically for shorter, low-energy interview sessions. If a subject gets tired, we can pause, take breaks, or break the session up as needed to keep the experience completely stress-free.

How long does the production process take, and what do we receive?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the package selected (ranging from a 10-minute keepsake to a full 1-hour life biography), our typical turnaround time is 5 to 6 weeks from the filming date. You will receive a 4K high-definition digital copy of the film to easily share with family worldwide, an optional archival USB package, and printed interview transcript.
